This movie was just bad.The plot was pointless and nonsensical.The main character,a 12 year old boy that is presented as the "detached and tragic hero" is a pathetic excuse for the coming of age trope.Instead we get an unlikeble main character whose bad desicions practically doom him from the start (after which he ofcourse has to be saved because he cant let the audience think that his decisions may have some weight because he just might atleast know what hes trying to do.).He shows time and time again how he isnt even competent,yet the movie makes it seem as if the audience is inclined to cheer for him. He goes to a nonsensical journey and learns nothing in the end.He choses to lose his parents and his safe and comfortable home to travel alone the zombie infested land where he imidiately has to get saved by power rangers in track suits (yes that is how the movie ends). The plot was just that bad. (Regardless the cinematography was atleast good,hard to enjoy with such a plot tho.) Shout out to my boy Erik for being the only character with some actual weight (along with the dad)and he lived for like 20 minutes?

28 Years Later

I bought it because I liked the film,but it is quite different. My fist impressions were that it is a tad too big and sometimes the story felt like as if it was dragging on and on. But I would say that it IS well-written,with all its pages filled. I think that the way things were written made it, looking back at it, feel a little dull and uneventfull.I think the mystery surrouding the marsh house and Marnie was not conveyed the way it could have. Still its a nice book,with a very interesting story.One of a kind I would say. I especially have so much love for the main character,Anna.She is a troubled little girl that feels unloved.I've never seen any piece of media talk about someone's insecurities in that way,a more calming and comforting way than the full of energy films we usually see.

Look back follows the story of two girls as they grow and bond over their shared interest in art,whilst their friendship ultimately falls apart. The film is clearly made with care,as its very beautifully drawn and the music and voice acting are great. As for the story,its good and swiftly told,thought I have to say some may find it dissapointing as its short and lacks a conclusion or message to the audience. That much is intended however,as the film is a very faithful adaptation to the book. I believe that the purpose of this story was to make you think.It lacks the up front message or hopeful ending most other movies have,so I could say that its not for everyone.

This film may not be for everyone,but I absolutely loved it. The story follows Anna,an artistic and quiet girl that feels unloved. Anna is sent to live with family friends in a quiet village where she can get fresh air,hoping to help her with her asthma.She spends most of her days alone,until she meets Marnie,a strange girl that lives in a big mansion. It is a great coming of age film,that looks into a teenage girl's insecurities in ways Ive never seen other movies do. The story isnt its only strong point thought,as the movie is beautifully drawn and the soundtrack and voiceacting are all fitting.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

It was just okay.People refer to it as this great coming of age psychological book but I really dont think its anything special. It is basically a recount of life through the eyes of Charlie,whom does little to make any of the topics deeper (other than the great detail ofcourse). I think the author did that so we can form our own opinions and conclusions on each character,and even more the "way of life",but that also just makes it pretty average as a story and read.You can just see how life is when you are not really a part of it. The most interesting part about it is ofcourse Charlie himself.You can always tell theres something about him but not quite what.However with the effort Charlie makes to seem as average as possible even that doesnt give you much room for thought until the very end.

This film has manny advantages,so good that youd almost feel sorry for the amount of disadvantages.Overall the way the story is handled is the weakest point.The lack of narrative in manny parts of the movie,thought an innovative idea that brought the feeling of paranoia and "not really being there" out in a great way, rendered manny of the things these scenes could give into nothing.Much of the story gave you nothing at all.For manny of the scenes it was not clear why they even existed.Overall this can be attributed to having to make a film with not enough material to fit into a decent movie of 1 hour+ . The great thing about this movie is the soundtrack combination with filming.Not only did the soundtrack never dissapoint at bringing out that feeling of uncomfort,paranoia,but combined with quiet shots of people skating,people talking,it did a truly great job at bringing out a dreamy feeling.Overall the building of the films surroundings was very good,its too bad the story lacked in depth.

Not for everyone.the word meh perfectly describes my feelings on this film.Overall,the story had a lot of build up that wound up to nothing,the psychological aspects of it were switched for Riley screaming and cursing 90% of the time,and Im not saying thats not realistic for someone in her situation,but it becomes a drag when thats all thats ever happening.The horror wasnt horror at all.I sat unfazed,waiting for it to finish.I guess the horror would be the corpses and weird visions Riley has.Well they didnt give you a scare at all.More of a "oh that happened." Feel. For the sake of it,I will have to say that the acting was really good,and the aesthetical aspects of the film. However it was simply a drag to go through.

It was ok.It talked of old times and that together with how Mark Twain did away with that childhood comedy and adventure I loved of Tom sawyer in order to make it a serious book made it not that enjoyable of a read for me. This is Hack's coming of age story.His understanding of bad and good and finally learning to stand up for what he feels is right even if it could cost him.Mark Twain did a very good job at that.Hack deciding that if not returning Jim to his owner made him sin,then he was willing to be a sinner,To understand that his actions have consequences for others,to understand where others come from and feel for them. That was good writing, however the all seriousness and life being shown just dry as it was made it at times boring. The last chapter with Tom was pretty tiring to go through too.
