The Bob

I loved the fist Remnant and the biggest reason i loved it was never asking me to know the strategy guides of hyper mode pros on the easiest difficulty once i understood the basic mechanics of the game i could easily beat most of the bosses in the game some required more thought than others and far more preparation but generally i would need to do any drastic changes to my preferred play style to beat the bosses again with only a few notable exceptions (I'm looking at you moth princes in the damn swamps). I generally don't play games because they are hard and Remnant 1 managed to find that perfect balance between being difficult for me while not feeling like it's babying me the whole time. But Remnant 2 has none of that the very first boss i fought in the entire game in the damn tutorial was hitting me from across the map the area was extremely constricted and it felt like i was not having perfect millisecond timing to avoid attacks. The second boss i fought intentionally HEAVILY restricted the most important mechanic to the entire game the dodge by making 2/3 of the entire area deep water that you have to wade through making dodging impossible and making you a sitting duck if you dodge into it when your in a panic ya know like how many of these bosses tend to do since on the easiest difficulty they can wombo combo me stun lock me and kill me in three hits. I am a single man who has adhd i cannot focus on 9 things at once and enjoy my game. I can't focus on my health the 17 mobs that just spawned on top of me the boss itself and try to dodge it's attacks as well as the 9 different hazards and restrictions around the arena as well as my ammunition and my targeting and my abilities and my mods its WAY to much. I don't play games as a test of my honor, skill or my clout on twitter i play games to have fun not punish myself for not playing he game optimally if i wanted that i would play the 5 offerings from, From Software in the form of Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne and Demon Souls. TLDR: It is a good game if you like punishing yourself and like playing Dark Souls and Bloodborne but if you don't and played Remanent 1 Casually like myself then your likely going to have a bad time. 2/5 It's good for somebody but not for a more casual audience.
