Very slow overly descriptive narrative. Mr. Biswas was not portrayed as someone very likable so much violence against women, so much casual wifebeating and child violence, flogging whipping children very abusive, not an enjoyable read at all. The only reason I stuck with it to finish it was to see if something went good, would actually happen for Mr. Biswas and his family. Also terrible picture of a marriage actually have many many marriages whether it’s true or not, I don’t dispute I just don’t like, the dismal character and the endless descriptions of this that, and the other thing I can’t believe this is the same author, who wrote “a bend in the river” which I enjoyed so much
