I had liked the books with Holly in them and was so disappointed in this book because King had to make it SO much about his personal hatred of Donald Trump, those who like Trump, those who didn’t want to wear masks, those who didn’t choose to take the Fauci Ouchy, and make it so thick with his own personal politics that those things distracted from the story. I’d find myself mentally rolling my eyes and thinking about how right, in retrospect, the people who didn’t mask and didn’t vax were, now that the Dr himself is admitting the masks were to please the CDC and did virtually zero good, and the vax actually did harm a ton of people who DID comply, and its efficacy was not impressive. So, I kept having to go backwards into the book to readdress the story itself as King kept diving into how stupid Trump supporters were. He also, as most leftists do, neglected to give Trump credit for the actual vaccine, which was created in record time, and, had it been used for the most vulnerable, as it was created for, would have been a historical feat. King just really showed that politics come before his fans and made me regret buying the book, as well as the audio book. I have been so very loyal to him, in spite of his politics because I don’t hate people for how they vote, but he really screwed his fans who choose to vote differently than he does, and showed he has zero loyalty to those of us who bought his very first book and have kept him afloat during his lean years, and now into his apparently mean ones.
