I just watched this movie and I just love every bit of it. Ok the ending was little bit stretched but it was worth it. The boycott trend has gotten this movie to dank otherwise it is a very beautiful adaptation of the original forrest gump and I am more than sure that Laal Singh Chaddha did justice to the original movie.
I have seen many reviews like Aamir Khan couldn't live up to the Tom Hank acting standard and blah blah. After watching the film, I was sure of one thing that nobody could have played that role other than Aamir Khan. So, the way Aamir represented the role was way different than Tom Hanks but he had given a fabulous performance portraying his understanding of the character and the initial link that you feel with his character from the beginning of the film stays there till the end.
In terms of screenplay, movie outstands. They have portrayed the Indian History and how Laal goes through all the major events what are the after effects they have on Laal's psyche and forthcoming life. The chemistry between Rupa and Laal was there from the beginning. In words of Aamir Khan, none other than Kareena Kapoor Khan could have played that role. She comes with her own colors and made the character Jenny aka Rupa herself and presented excellent version of Indian Jenny to us. The songs and OSTs throughout the movie were resonating with the scenes with portraying the unspoken things going in the minds of the character. Mona outplayed the role of Laal's mother. She completely owns it. Chota Laal was fantabulous.
Laal Singh Chaddha is the perfect adaptation of Forrest Gump and gives ode to its predecessor.
