The movie brings up a a lot of topic that it fails to explain, yet alone expand on. I cant imagine anymore who is not familiar with bob marley or his impact to gain any further understanding of his life story or significance through this film. Overall Bob Marleys life and full purpose fails to be explained, it just kind of shows random moments in his trajectory. The people he is surrounded with also lack a much needed introduction which causes a disconnection from them within the audience straight away. In summary as a fan of Bob Marley Im very disappointed with this movie as it doesn’t compete to the likes of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ or ‘Straight out of Compton’ which are made in similar vein and set up an expectation for a movie made about an equally significant name to NWA or Freddy Mercury. The only reason this movie gets 2 stars from me is the sound track which cant even be credited to it as it is just songs by Bob Marley and the Wailers rather than original music ( which is to be expected, it would really be shocking if they couldn’t get that part right)…. Dissatisfaction
