The series takes some strange departures from its source material, and unfortunately for the TV show, the book weaves a much better story. If you haven't read the book, then you'll probably enjoy the drama of the TV show. However, if you've read Firefly Lane, skip the series. I held out for a few episodes, but I was consistently left disappointed.
