Nicholas Hillier

Not a bad sci fi mystery thriller but spoiled for me by the lead male actor whose performance was decidedly wooden and made worse by having been dubbed by a voice I found expressionless. Also there seems to have developed a school of script writing, which specialises in dialogue where a character asks a question but it's never answered... Extremely irritating.

A rather quaint period piece providing work for a few thesps who must have been very hard up to have taken it on. Has the feel of a mid 70s film although made in '83 apparently. Not a complete waste of time but really not something Laurence Olivier would have been proud of.

A gem. Containing some great comic turns, this gentle comedy contains many laugh out loud moments as the story of a confirmed entitled bachelor searches for a rich wife having run through his fortune - with the intention that the marriage will be short and in his wife's case, terminal. Fans of Walter Matthau will need no encouragement but the whole cast contribute to making this one of my top 10 comedies.
