The acting was very “acty”. The main character meeting her friend for breakfast who works for Purdue (the manufacturer of Oxycontin) to try to get more Oxy was a huge eye roll. The acting was not smart or sublime - it was very obvious acting. The back and forth iPhone texting (shown in big words on the side of the screen) in a movie is a rookie move, IMO.
Just wasn’t a smart film. Ugh. Loved Garden State but left the theatre 1 hour into this one.
