You mean to tell me that Klaatu just "changes his mind" because he sees Helen comforting Jacob? That makes no sense to me. Typical apocalyptic movie about how humans are garbage and the government is clueless. I can't believe Keanu (and the amazing Kathy Bates) looked at this script and thought "sounds like a good movie." Everything about this movie is predictable and mundane from beginning to end.
