Really sad about this game. Was looking forward to it. Biggest issues below:
- getting stronger feels weirdly linear. There are very few moments of - oh I just got this awesome new thing and now I can smash for a bit. As an example - in d2, remember that feeling that you got when you first got your spirit weapon? Your fcr shoots up, you get more life, fhr, everything. It feels great. You feel the power spike. That happens frequently as you equip better and better gear. In d4, that really doesn't happen other than a few legendary powers that you will keep for the life of that character.
- item diversity is extremely limited. Does rare have right stats? Let me imprint it. Is it a legendary? Cool let me extract it if I need it.
- Rares are a pain to look at. Literally making us look at every damn rare of every kind. As an example, in d2r, I know what type of item I am grabbing, and each type of item means very different things. In d4, a helm is a helm. A ring is a ring. Etc. Any nuance lost.
- Leveling up feels terrible. Scaling makes being a higher level meaningless. Give me a chance to actually feel good about the fact that my character is stronger. The whole point of grinding a character up on an arpg is to get stronger so that you feel the character getting stronger. Infinite scaling destroys that joy.
Honestly, there are a few other things, but those are the biggest.
