It's a fabulous, engrossing, beautifully written and well crafted novel. I love the main characters of Strike and Robin. The fact that the novel is long is brilliant, I hate finishing a really good read. For me personally I didn't find the cross dressing element a huge part of the plot, or in any way offensive, but perhaps having the murderer wearing women's clothing is a mistake after the author's stated position on transgender people (however trans sexuality and trans vestism are very different issues). Disagreeing with the authors stance on one issue, for me, doesn't take away from the book in any way.
