Very nice book. I only read it because we were getting a test on it after Labor Day, but it turned out to be surprisingly good. Its only 100 so its a very short read, too short in my opinion. It somehow became even more interesting after we discussed its themes in ELA class which goes to show how good of a book it is (most books I've read become worse after discussing it in ELA). They do say the n-word a couple times but Steinbeck wasn't trying to be racist, in fact this book is anything but racist. I really loved this book and it is now one of my all time favorites. To think I might have never read it if it wasn't required summer reading.
