Original, different than source book or 90’s movie. Absolutely gorgeous and well acted.

Every technical historical detail is exquisite.

Amazing cast, gorgeous esthetically…superb nudity, but nearly zero plot.

Some of the artifice was distracting…accents, lavish settings etc. But also, incredible and surprisingly, fully told regarding and old school solution for a high profile gay man in the arts. There’s something distant about the entire production, that makes it challenging to engage with. Not sure, what the problem is exactly.

This and the first, are an absolute must see for all, period. Though a half century old, even! But don’t bother with the unfortunate later sequels.

Fascinating study of the effects of power on relationships and individual character.

Sickening mess. The lead actress’ look is completely not of the time period. A noble effort but a gory miscarriage of a movie. Perhaps if it had chosen to follow primarily a single characters story.

Well worth watching but can fast forward the last third. So nice to have Anna, Maryann, Brian and DeeDee back. And though Mouse is so different, it’s cool because he’s the great actor from season one of White Lotus and his tasty Lad. El…. Page is an excellent actor too. Loved Anna’s best friend when first in SF too…though not aged properly, towards the end. Great getting Anna’s backstory, though the plot unwound to a standstill, not long after. Terrific production w/some serious pacing problems towards the end.

Entertaining and loosely history based. Surprised that the real life dude who owned that gas station’s memoirs were not credited. Also, pretty sure Gore Vidal covered some of this material too.
