Hands down one of my top 3 favorite games ever. This is my first roguelike video game experience and I love it, as I write this review I'm entering the fourth biome and I seriously don't want the game to end anytime soon, I'll take the beating just for the joy of the graphics, sharp and responsive gameplay, 3D audio sounds, level design and everything else that feels so magical about this game. Perseverance is the key to success in this game and that matches my personality in every way. To share my experience so far, I have spent nearly 5 hours and multiple attempts on the first biome until I finally conquered it, only to breeze through the second and third biome and defeat each boss on my first try. You never know what's next and nothing is guaranteed (unlike most other games) and that's what makes this game so special. I was in awe each time I died, resurrected and walking into a different room thinking this is completely different than the last time. It's a game that keeps on giving and keeps you on your toes because every loop is different in some way or another (level design, enemies, and so on). I play on 4K HDR 60HZ/FPS SAMSUNG TV and I own a pair of (SONY WH-CH700N) 3D audio capable headphones which the game detects at the start and I believe this completes the amazing experience this game truly is, the 3D audio changes everything. I own and have played many video games over the years and enjoy everything from FPS shooters to adventure, platform, puzzles, racing, this game however is something else on a whole new level, truly stunning. This is the first game I have that has justified buying the PS5 which I've owned for 9 months now. My only criticism is that I would like to be able to save at the end of each level after defeating the boss because each run is very long and can last 2 hours or more and that's why I initially hesitated buying the game, (10/26/21 - Housemarque's Update 2.0 has just added a save feature called "Suspend Cycle and Photo Mode), problem solved. Anyway Buy it, apply yourself and you won't regret it. You will truly feel like a hero each time you defeat a boss. A masterpiece and near perfect 9 out of 10.
