The storyline had great potential but it was quickly ruined by terrible acting terrible script and terrible plot. It started off promising but quickly fell into disaster when I realised hang on , not a single person in this movie can act

People who say this isn’t a horror movie must not understand the concept of horror and let me tell you why. I have a whole lot of opinion about this film because it truly is the only movie to ever mess me up in the head. It’s hard to explain and I don’t admit it to many people. Essentially this movies main premise is around the ghost of a dead girl who committed suicide a year before joining a Skype call with her old ‘ friends ‘ and, pretty much, possessing them to make them kill themselves. To punish them for bullying her to her death. I went into this movie at the cinema in 2015 when it was released blind, not having seen the trailer, not knowing anything about is other than it being a ‘ horror film ‘. I was also very very stoned which did not help. I have been a horror movie fan for years and nothing has disturbed me mentally as much as a few scenes did in this film. The movie as a whole has brilliant acting. Considering the whole thing is on a computer screen the actors did a damn good job at making it feel so real. It’s like a teenage drama but with a horror element. There’s lies, there’s backstabbing. Every friend is hiding something from each other and these secrets are being revealed by an unknown user in their call, which they believe to be a virus at first before revealing it was Laura, meanwhile every so often one of them gets forced to kill themselves. The tension combined with the acting and actually surprisingly the fact it’s done on a computer screen makes this such a great horror movie. I don’t think it would of been as good had it been on a normal screen. The tension, for example when Blair is desperately trying to complete installing the ‘ virus protector ‘ meanwhile her friends are panicking in the background, she’s panicking, she’s clicking dramatically all over her screen all while Billie has this countdown going on. Which us who have never seen the film don’t know what it leads too. The virus works and they assume it’s over but it isn’t. And it reveals that in the most uncomfortable way possible. It had me on the edge of my seat. I mean it had me in my anxiety. And there’s not many movies that get me in my anxiety. 2 of the ‘ murder / suicide ‘ scenes in particular got to me bad and that’s why I’ve rated this 4 stars instead of 5. I probably sound like a drama queen compared to everyone who thought this movie was either trash or not scary but the truth is certain scenes from that movie haunt me to this day, it’s been 7 years since I sat down in cinema to watch it, I’ve owned it on dvd and watched it maybe 2/3 times since then and it has the same affect on me every time. I highly recommend this if you like real horror movies. Don’t listen to the negative reviews.

I’m not going to say this movie was bad because I did enjoy watching it, it kept me entertained, however I don’t think I’ll be watching it again. Downsides are, it’s very predictable from start to finish. The character of Courtney was ridiculously stupid, how could she believe a bloke she knew for 5 minutes over her best friend?! The acting wasn’t terrible, especially on Nias part, but it could of been better. The acting of her husband didn’t inspire me the slightest, how did he manage to allow himself and his daughter to be tied up? He should of fought that other guy to try to save his wife! The predictably, and the fact it’s very cliche and not something a lot of other movies have done before, takes this down a rating. However if your just looking for some light entertainment, something to watch when you don’t fancy paying too much attention, this is a good choice. It is at least an interesting storyline and does have a good message behind it!

100% one of my favourite movies! I really enjoyed this, it had the perfect balance of different emotions, mainly funny but also deep in some places. The acting was incredible from everyone involved and the storyline kept me entertained all the way through! Cant wait to watch this again

Intense, it takes a lot to get me scared at a horror movie recently (if the movie isn’t an old one) but this one did the trick. Acting on all parts was outstanding, especially from young Jeta. The storyline was gripping and kept me on the edge of my seat, I didn’t feel bored at any part during the movie which is great news for me. I really enjoyed it and it was very creepy and disturbing. - as a horror movie junkie knows should be the case!

Possible spoilers in this review This is a good documentary in terms of how it’s set out, it got me glued to it from the first episode. Obviously , if your a huge cat person like me, I wouldn’t recommend, I had nightmares for weeks - although it doesn’t show what actually happens to the kittens it shows enough, ie. the beginning of the psychos videos, TW: cat tied to a broom before being drowned, cat in a cage being covered in gas before being set on fire. Other than that it is a great watch. All 3 episodes are very interesting. Sucks that this had to happen though, if the police had listened to the ‘ internet people ‘ Luca wouldn’t of got round to killing an actual human, but there we go.

I wasn’t expecting this film to be any good but it actually was! Although the first 10-20 mins are slightly boring, it gets more interesting as time goes on, it started to grip me around the 30min mark and I was glued to it. Although quite a simple storyline it’s quite raw and the actors do it great justice.

Boring. I didn’t even watch it until the end. Predictable from start to finish, confusing yet basic storyline, no suspense whats so ever, no ‘ chilling’ feeling, everything ‘ scary ‘ was literally in the form of over the top disturbing murder scenes and that was literally the only ‘ shocking ‘ aspect. I knew everything that was gonna happen and the acting was bland. Don’t bother

The first two episodes were really gripping, and I got really hooked on this doc, I love documentaries set out like this. The scene with Elisa lamb in the elevator scared the hell out of me, I was absolutely desperate to find out what happened. But unfortunately the producers dragged it out too long, it didn’t need 4 hr long episodes giving us all these hints that it could be a haunted hotel, or a murder, then it turns out to just be bad mental health ( which is absolutely awful, but could happen at ANY hotel ) and GOD the internet people!! I have never been so irritated. People who never even knew or met Elisa were SO obsessed and invested in this case, but all they did was create false news and ruined an innocent guys career and mental health based on their own stupid assumptions. It’s absolutely terrible what happened to that girl, but I strongly believe it was a disaster related to her bipolar and was accidental suicide. I loved learning about the hotels history, and the fact it’s near skid row and a cheap budget where the night stalker actually stayed after taking his victims, but all of that ended up irrelevant when related to Elisa lamb. Over all good watch to begin with but it does drag out too long and gets a bit dumb towards the end.
