The North Star is an excellent read and shows Canadian involvement in the US Civil War. The conspiracies in the assination of Abraham Lincoln involving parties in Canada and other plots during the war involving Canadian interests was very eye opening. The welcome arrival of Jefferson Davis in Canada after his release from US prison and the sympathy shown Southern Confederacy was well researched and documented in this book. As a Canadian, The North Star should be read by all.
