This was so very helpful to me in understanding the long term affects of child sexual abuse. The grooming involves and how a child views things. Also the way the abuser is cunning in working on the entire family and environment and mind of the child. My husband was a victim. He is now in his 50's We have been together since college. I always knew something was wrong but couldn't figure it out. Until we had children of our own and he had a break down and suddenly with the help of intensive therapy it came to light what had happened to him in secrecy was eating him alive. We almost lost him to it. Thank GOD for the help of very skilled folks for helping him to work through things. He is still working through it and it has been almost 6 years since his break. He did not watch the documentary but did watch some of the Oprah interview afterward. He is really struggling with that show but I think in the long run, it will help him further his healing and understanding. It is so important because there are so many suffering due to the hands of extremely trusted individuals. Thank you for sharing the story of the journey of these two. James was such a little boy in the after interview. Stuck in time and in an adult body. I felt so deeply for him. I hope and pray he will over come. This kind of abuse has certainly affected my life. It does not end when the physical abuse ends. We all carry the scars of it in some way. Love to all and thanks!!!
