I have played every entry in the franchise. I have no doubt the game will be fun and entertaining, but the lack of polish is absolutely disgusting. It is so prevalent as to be distracting from the experience. I cannot believe that this game was developed by a AAA developer for the most popular franchise on earth in the year 2022. The graphical fidelity is worse than a phone app from the year 2009. The assets are terrible. There is constant environment clipping. Assets flicker while you walk nearby. Load times are egregious. Optimization is garbage. NPC’s are poorly designed. Objects in the near distance seem to be animated at about 1 frame per second. I would say that just about the only semi-well done aspect of this game is the creature models. Gamefreak should he embarrassed, but I’m sure their ROI will be staggering. I simply cannot believe they released this beta game. Time for Gamefreak to hand it over to another developer who can actually make a decent game that looks like it was developed in the current decade. Not trying to be negative, but this is absurd, and Gamefreak is going to profit hand over fist, so the only thing we can do is provide objective and collective feedback.
