They have evolved and will continue to do so. The concert at MSG was amazing and their new album is phenomenal, A Masterpiece. I enjoyed listening to every song. Don’t really have a favorite, but I can listen to each song individually and on repeat too. I’m a person that dissects and enjoys the artistic creativity they have put into it. I always loved Avenged Sevenfold ever since Waking The Fallen. Once I heard Reminissions, I knew they would just put out whatever they feel eventually. I can say the first half is more the “classic A7X” fused with the later. The second half of the album is out of this world, it’s different, and it makes you uncomfortable at times, which it’s supposed to, I feel. It’s supposed to make you want to listen to it over again to learn new things. If’s like watching a movie over and over again, you’ll find new things and little trinkets and what not and be more pleasantly satisfied with the work. I would give this album a 9.3 out of 10. When listening to it, forget A7X didn’t even exist, just listen to it as a whole, then listen to it again. You’ll notice the first time you’ll listen to it, you are uncomfortable. If you listen to it over and over, it just becomes normal and more pleasant.

When I first heard Remenissions from Waken the Fallen, I had a feeling they would eventually go toward this direction of artistic creativity. Great album, not my fav, but this is what they were born to do. Push the boundaries, get rid of the basic structure of verse chorus, verse chorus, breakdown solo chorus. This is what the Rev wanted. A bit of this, that, metal, jazz, funk, classical, whatever to take you on a fantastic journey into what we call life. The melodies, the grit, the sound of Avenged Sevenfold has not left, it’s still actually heavy in this album. Old fans may not like it, new fans are maybe like what the hell, but you know what? A7X doesn’t care lol, they wanted to express and put everything into this album. I for one, appreciate every album they have made and the maturity that they have developed. You have to be open minded when it comes to music. I listen to everything, but this has been the ONLY band that I have followed since I was a kid. The only one, and they are just going to get better as I keep bettering myself as well.
