I went into “We Live in Time” positively blind, which I think probably exacerbated the impact of the drama. However, it is several hours after returning from the theatre and I’m still feeling so much because of this film. I resonated with the fmc’s struggle with her legacy and whether or not to prolong the inevitable in a way that could potentially dampen the last of her time earthside. There was a balance between heart wrenching moments and happy ones, which kept me from walking out (from being too sad 😅). I would specifically recommend to someone feeling so numb they need to be emotionally wrecked to the point of tears. (Personally, I was snotty the whole movie). I found the actors’ performance moving. Overall, a beautiful albeit painful film. I think I am only knocking off a star because I’m still sad and the synopsis didn’t prepare me to feel so much (I didn’t watch the trailer)
