So the first therapist invites him to speak to a psychologist that can't prescribe him medication to help save his life... Despite a history of family suicide? To me, the whole therapy act was contrived. Above that, there was something to be said of his trauma. A conclusion was bound to happen...! But then nope. More uh unclear hysteria, which btw left me a bit hysterical. But despite me not recognizing a single soul cast in this film, Heavens to Betsy, the acting was superb. So was the SFX, score, and everything else that's technically making this movie look, sound, and feel like a hit in the making. …but with the bogus therapy scenes and no real resolution—heck, no ending at all—I walked away feeling duped. They stacked the deck with tension, trauma, and top-tier acting, then just bailed before cashing in the chips. All suspense, no payoff. How the therapists and his family treated him was worse than the abduction for crying out loud. At the end of the day, Descendent looks amazing, sounds amazing, and had me hooked… right up until it didn’t. It’s worth a watch for the ride, but don’t expect answers—you’ll be stuck holding the bag like me, wondering what the heck just happened.

It's one of those stories where you understand the motivation of the antagonist. And so, it creates a very interesting dynamic of the mad scientist trope. Great acting. Lots of suspense. Very ethereal and ghostly like with its soundtrack. It's concept is immense. Bottomline, it's not for everyone. But if you like sci Fi, this is a 5/5.

Scary, full of twists, and does a little tie in with LAPD early 90s history. You need to watch this.

Did I easily sit through 3.5hrs of film? Yeah. Each scene had value. The actors carried the plot with smooth character development. But it was your typical Scorsese film, where as you spend a lot of time looking at the face of evil, which Leo and Deniro carried out masterfully. I felt like the Osage were portrayed for no more than sympathic plot device; their lack of arc was disappointing. It's a well done nonfictional true crime drama. Not the most remarkable film this year, but it comes close.
