A film that promises little and delivers on it.

Watchable but many of the characters personalities are both overblown & simplistic...possibly deliberately so in order to keep the interest of a mass audience perhaps not overly familiar with the period history. It's obviously not a mega dollar production - rivet counters will have an absolute fielday with the massive array of uniform, equipment, vehicle and capital item inaccuracies. Based on the first few episodes this series is hovering around the 6.5/10 level.

Initially showed some promise but soon transpired to be something of a soap opera with presumably quite a juvenile target audience. Seemed to be an exceptionally PC in some areas making sure that all races and sexes were represented & cated for while minimizing violent confrontation in favour of highly improbable truces and a seamless forgiving of the Giants team for its occasional on or off screen butchery of bit players. Certainly it played on the nagging conscience that many in Norway have re the country's extreme wealth derived largely from a dirty oil industry but beyond that a bit of a dud. An award to the actress who did the English language dubbing for the wannabe Thor's mum...We haven't heard anything quite so funny since the Swedish chef on The Muppet Show.
