Seems like all the 5 stars ratings are of diehard fans who have ignored the flatness of the movie, and have copy and pasted the same dialogue and key points into a 16 paragraph essay. I guess thats to be expected though. Once the cinema experience fades away you are left with an average movie—which is disappointing considering the extensive line up of actors and the amount of funds that illumination provided. Goes to show money cannot write an interesting story. The music was enjoyable however, and the animation was very high quality as well. But even so, the tropes were rudimentary at best, leaving much to be desired from this forgettable film. Your kids will enjoy it, but in terms of cinematic prestige, ‘The Super Mario Bros Movie’ falls short.
