The Games premise is there, the storyline and the layout of the house is beautifully crafted and it had great potential to be an amazing end to a great series.
Unfortunately it wasn’t. Aside from the graphics resembling a ps4 game, the games mechanics were a little off. Flashlights felt clunky, there was more quick time events then other games but they still felt a little out of place, but to get to the main point;
I wasted waaaaaay too much time wandering in circles, no music, no real cues besides jump scares (that by the point you get to them aren’t scary) just to be looking for a key, or a path hidden by branches. I had to very often look to YouTube just to be frustrated at the fact I was supposed to walk behind a box, or jump up something. The game felt way longer than any others because of the useless meandering I had to do just to find “obols” that unlock concept art.
They need to update their engine for sure and make more games like the quarry if I am going to stay interested.
On the topic of graphics, you can really tell this one only took six monthes to make, felt like a project someone finished early and never went back to to polish. If it wasn’t 20 bucks I would’ve felt ripped off.
