The game doesn't run smoothly at all. The menu runs very slowly. Things take longer than they need to in order to load, to the point in where certain menus get stuck. The in-game music is low quality, you're better off listening to a playlist of the game's music on an external listening platform. And on top of that, the gameplay is worse than last year's. Even though the AI defensive back coverage has gotten better, the gameplay is still atrocious. The offensive line doesn't even block for the quarterback on some plays, just letting the defensive ends run right next to them. Every so often, when I'm running a play with a receiver not even 4 yards away from the quarterback, it'll say the throws are "perfect accuracy" but they won't even get to the receiver, instead the throw doesn't even go far enough. There are also plenty of instances where the cornerbacks run in front of the receivers and the receivers slow down because they're literally running into the cornerbacks. All of these bugs happened against the AI, so I couldn't even imagine what it would be like against other players online. At least Madden 23 was slightly better, it would actually be fun to play against friends. However, this game is a mess and isn't even remotely fun. I bought it for the same reason I bought last year's game, which was to play with friends. I believe that, although the game was at a discount, buying Madden 24 was the worst financial decision I have ever made. EA never fails to disappoint. Ever since EA got the exclusive licensing deal with the NFL, they no longer have to put effort into Madden. Regardless, people are still going to buy the game because it's the only NFL simulation video-game out there that's up-to-date on everything. I may not be the best at this game, but there are other games I'm not too good at that are actually fun to play. That's because those games are made well, this game isn't. I'm sure EA will continue to disappoint until the NFL hopefully doesn't renew their licensing deal.
