After watching this film for the umpteenth time, I find myself wondering just what quality it has that keeps bringing me back. As I am writing, it becomes obvious. Jack Nicholson is simply outstanding. He plays a man of my age who, on retirement, faces a whole new chapter in his life. The story that unfolds may not be entertaining to some, but if it gets a hold of you, it has a subtle power that will not diminish. I estimate 8 to 10 weeks between viewings, maybe less depending on my mood!
