Its really badly edited and feels a bit uncomfortable to watch but its still an entertaining big action blockbuster. Michael Bay is undeniably very good at big ridiculous action and CGI scenes and he doesn't disappoint here. The car chase is brilliant amongst others. I think critics might be a bit jaded to be honest because some of the action scenes are excellent. The plot, dialogue etc are what you would expect but thats not why you watch this sort of film. Atttractive people blowing things up in inventive ways and having fun doing it badly to comedic effect is what draws us to this sort of film. Its pure escapism not high culture. If you want a well written drama read a book. If you want to forget about everything and have a bit of fun for two hours watch this.

Great big daft sci-fi film like a hollywood blockbuster should be. I'm glad the chinese are starting to do sci-fi. Their historical fiction/fantasy is incredible.

Its good if you like dystopic sci-fi. Don't bother if you don't.
