So this movie is actually a piece of everyone’s life, which is extremely ordinary and filled with little moments that are strange, stupid, fragile, funny and touching.
I likes the well rounded characters, as well as the ongoing relationships. But I will say this - the movie doesn’t have a narrative. The description of the movie said it’s about an author who gets hurt by her husband, a therapist, when she finds out he doesn’t like her new book. But that part only lasted about 30–45 minutes in the movie, in the middle of it. This movie is 1 hour and 45 minutes, and not even half of it is about this supposedly turning point.
The rest of it was pretty boring, I didn’t get where the plot is going, and at the end I asked my husband:”what the hell was that movie about?”. He asked me the same. We truly love deep and slow movies that doesn’t necessarily go along with the Hollywood brand, the ones that touch important subjects that we all face in our everyday lives, and we don’t like rom coms cause of the fantasy they’re selling. So this one should have been the right one for us, but it turns out the lack of plot (which is literally the backbone of every good story) is just not for us. We probably won’t watch another movie of the director and writer.
So if you wanna watch a piece of somebody’s life That doesn’t have a narrative sense, go ahead. if you wanna watch a good story, see something else, this one isn’t for you.
