It’s a good pop science piece, for sure, with a perspective and scope that sets it apart.
Chlorine gas was certainly not “the defining weapon of the First World War” though. Not even close. That whole bit could have been cut and replaced with a segment that would have been perfect for what the series theme was going for from the beginning with the deep time hook, and that segment would have been on: nitrates.
