I don’t understand why people give this movie such a low rating. Many might not have dived deeper into the psychology behind it yet. This movie is actually really well-made and thoughtfully artisan-crafted.
Now more than ever, people seek fame (Harley’s fantasy or she may be genuinely want Arthur don't give up the fighter-Joker ), power (the police, judge, lawyers, etc.), and their desires while overlooking the needs of others with fewer resources, especially those who are bullied or ignored. True freedom and kindness matter to EVERYONE, not just the privileged. This movie is bold, creative, and, yes, uncomfortable. It reflects the struggles of part of the fucked-up world faces, much like Sisyphus rolling a large stone on top of the hill. It prompts us to ask ourselves what we can change and what we can do for others. It’s disheartening that we lack answers and feel powerless, which can lead to our dislike of it!
From the art direction to the music, everything is top-notch! The film's design pushes us to reflect on what’s wrong with our society. A little kindness can go a long way, and perhaps we can all strive to be a bit braver and care more about the people in our lives, no matter where they are in the hierarchy. ALL LIVES MATTER!
