Not all border patrols are subject to be fluent in Spanish but it helps tho anyone who takes the job eventually will learn on the job.
Some of the qualifications are;
A combination of graduate level education completed in a field of study related to law enforcement (e.g., criminology, criminal justice, law enforcement, courts and judicial systems, corrections and rehabilitation, justice studies, homeland security, forensic technology and forensic psychology) at an accredited or pre-accredited college or university AND specialized work experience.
In my opinion, Michael Chiklis does a good job portraying a knowledgeable, experienced, educated yet humble patrol officer.

The wait till an illegal immigrant has to go through till given a court date. Many those detainees sign deportation without ever given the chance to see a judge.
Women have been abused by the doctors who are there to do health checks.
