The Women is an outstanding and moving novel. I was transported back to the Vietnam War era and how the roles of women rapidly shifted. And of the horrors of war and the shameful ways we treated our veterans when they returned. The war tore our country apart and this book reveals how that happened. Hannah accurately portrays the experiences of PTSD and the consequences for families and soldiers. I smiled, I cried and I was moved by the courage of those who experience the very worst of life and struggle to live well despite their trauma. Thank you Kristen Hannah for writing such a wonderful book!
