When first watching the movie you are absolutely confused why people like it so much. And even after finishing the movie you are still confused why people like it so much. It isn’t until you’ve had time to unpack and respond to the ideas in the movie that you start to realize the true value of it.
It left me thinking about the many different ways that it connects to my life. I was asking my self if I would want to know the true desire of my heart and if I would even have enough faith in the room in the first place. I then went on to draw my own meaning from the many impactful parts of the movie. I feel like this personal symbolism with our own lives and experiences is what makes this movie spectacular.
When trying to make sense of the movie I felt extremely lost because I didn’t know hoe people were drawing the connections that they were in other reviews but then it hit me. No two people have the same experiences in life and likewise no two people will come out with the same realizations. I believe that this is 100% intended and is truly necessary for a film to be this impactful.
The cinematography did an amazing job fostering personal reflection by having long drawn out scenes where the viewer can just simply think. The slow paced aspect of it also felt oddly refreshing compared to the over saturated high paced cg movies of today. These things combined with an amazing cast and set definitely make this movie one that will be life changing and you’ll never forget. I would highly recommend carving out three hours of your time to watch this movie and then many more to just sit and think.
