This was Ted and his band, still fusing their sound from loads of live performances and their own studio work as well. It was polished and of course in 1975 we were introduced to 'Ted Nugent's' first solo album too--without the Amboy Dukes--sort of. haha Almost the same band with Ted as the featured player and by now a veteran rocker. TF&C is a moment in rock history, because it was the end of the Amboy Dukes--a terrific live band forged from garage rock sessions frankly. It was Ted's solo launching moment after they released this album; and if you're a Ted fan you should already have this album. I had it on vinyl for over 40 years, and just now got the CD version. My favorite song is 'Great White Buffalo,' which is vintage Nuge!! I highly suggest getting the newly released live albums from their salad days because those bristle with power and energy!! Yeah, rock out with the Nuge and the Dukes baby!!

I initially loved it when it first came out; but then a few years later Gordon Prange put out "At Dawn We Slept;" and that book to me was the DEFINITIVE story of Pearl Harbor. Prange had more access to some of what Toland had, so I don't blame him because he did a ton of research. No reason you can't like both; but Prange's research and writings put any conspiracy theory to bed forever in my opinion. I'd be happy to discuss this with anyone who believes otherwise. If you haven't read any of Prange's books; then at least treat yourself to Toland first and then read "At Dawn We Slept.' Case closed with NO conspiracy. That was only ever a bad hope only for FDR haters mostly. That also takes away from what all the Japanese combined who planned and carried out the Kido Butai and they deserve all the credit for what they accomplished. It's hard for any American to swallow, but the truth prevails and we learned to respect the Japanese very quickly after that. Thank God it's all behind us now, and we are very good allies with Japan and their wonderful people and culture.

Any one of these wonderful albums by Coltrane and his collaborators would be worth the cost of this 4 CD collection. That said, to have 8 albums contained in a collection is beyond compare! The list of players combined is literally jazz pioneers and greats from the 1940s to the 1960s at the least. My advice to any jazz fans and/or Coltrane lovers is to just download it all and then sit back, plug in your headphones and be dazzled! I still can't BELIEVE I bought this for only $12.36!!! Merry Christmas to me in June!! Go now and buy it and then see if I was wrong about anything I've said. hahaha It's Coltrane--dig it for yourself! Yeah, man...very cool and hep
