Endeavour is arguably the finest made police drama to come out of the U.K. The cast is absolutely stellar; the production values outstanding; and the scripts excellent (for the most part). In years to come, this programme will be viewed the equal of The Wire and the Anglo-French police drama Spiral. Savour it like a glass of fine wine.

Spiral (Engrenage en Français) is the best French television drama ever made. I am originally from Baltimore Maryland and found the US crime drama "The Wire" so real that I could not watch it. If I was Parisienne then I would feel exactly the same about "Spiral". My only regret is that my French isn't good enough to follow what is going on without the subtitles. From dodgy cops, to viscous hoodlums, to crime-infested suburbs in Paris, to career-obsessed lawyers, Spiral is a tour de force of the seedier side of Paris and the French justice system. Watch it! It is addictive, riveting, compelling, and utterly exhausting. You will love it.
