I actually loved this film. All of the negative reviews are from people who are looking for, I don't know what, in a rom/com, lighthearted film. I'm watching enough drama happening in the world right now, especially in the political climate, etc. I really needed to unwind from stress and watch a film that could take me away and feel warm, fuzzy and joyful. The script was actually a lot deeper than I thought it would be, and I loved the real conversations and connection that developed between Zac and Nicole. It was realistic in the sense that it wasn't just shoved in your face that these 2 like eachother, you could see that there was a real depth of connection. Some of the other reviews complained about watching actors with cosmetic procedures done. Honestly, if that's what you're focused on, you're missing the storyline and performances. Just go with it and watch the movie and enjoy yourself, stop being so critical. I bet you if Nicole never had anything done, the criticism would be 'omg, I can't believe how old she looks, why didn't she take better care of herself?", etc, etc. And Zac had an accident with his face so he had reconstructive surgery. No, he doesn't look like he used to, but so what?? In any case, the performances were all really great, they are all great actors and Joey King is on her way to have a major career with longevity. She's fantastic. I highly recommend if you are exhausted from the state of the world and need a break to take your mind off of things. Or if you just want to watch a good, fun, film.
