This movie captures a unique niche in cinema, combining both our social media age, and that risk-taking, leading to absolute dread. Ending up in precarious situations for social media “likes”, has many people falling off cliffs in real life. Often putting rescue teams in danger to rescue them.
It captures vast panoramas of nothingness, and bleak minimalism, where the human animal cannot survive. The sun, the wind, the lack of water, lack of food, one false move by one foot will kill you. It is a superb movie which captures these aspects with surgical precision. And shows how our heroes disregard all signs of this “to live” a proper life. You ask the question, to live properly, must you face fear and death in this manner? I say no, but some people continue to do similar things out in the world.
Go see it!
