It's Supermassive's best entry since Until Dawn. Of course, interactive films are niche games, but this one is a delight for fans of the genre.
Supermassive has enhanced gameplay by adding features missing in previous titles, such as an indicator of area transition. Horror, action, and investigation are perfectly balanced, with stunning graphics, smooth facial expressions, and competent acting. A show apart, the soundtracks draw the atmosphere of a cosmic-horror-esque game, perhaps the first on the company's catalog.
Settled in Day By Daylight's universe, "The Casting of Frank Stone" borrows many of Behavior Interactive's magnum opus, but with the proper dosage, never allowing the game to be outshined. DBD players will encounter happy surprises, from the size of easter eggs to gameplay mechanics.
I experienced minor bugs during my playthrough on PS5, and I expect some launch issues (such as the delay in the deluxe version of the rewards) to be patched soon enough.
The game has a high replay factor potential. That said, I must close the curtains and prepare the stage for a new branch of choices.
