Best NZ made movie, in my opinion. It's a folk movie- it's about people and all the better for it. No car chases but very moving in good ways. I have always loved it; the story opens like a flower as you watch with multi-strands of plot and slow reveals on characters. It's a period piece with a realistic and believable depiction of time and place coupled with emotive acting and direction. The theme song will stay with you long time.
