i dont trust myself to write an actual review of this book because this book infuriates me. my biggest problem is zade, obviously. i dont mind heavy themes in a book, but knowing that stuff like sa is just going to be romanticized is sickening. these are actual problems that people in the real world suffer from. and i dont care if this is dark romance, it's not, its sick. you cant give every horrible trait to a character, but make him 6 ft something, rich and conventionally attractive and say "but he saves trafficked women" and excuse every horrible thing he does. ill go ahead and say it. this isnt romance at all the female lead is annoyingly stupid, its almost like she doesnt use her head at all, but tbh i dont mind that as much. what i do mind is lack of depth in every character. adeline is the tiny, petite, needs to be protected fmc, zade is alpha 'ill protect you babygirl' mmc. daya is the supportive sassy bestfriend. the author does a great job of perfectly placing characters in itty bitty boxes and nothing else. the plot is boring, i was genuinely interested in gigi's case, but now i really cant care less, there is smut every few chapters, i especially cant sit through zade's chapters. every time he says something i prepare myself to cringe. his lines remind me of those 'cold husband JK____' fanfics on yt (except those are actually funny)
