I love the concept so much but there as just too many things wrong with this series I have no idea how it managed 6 whole seasons. 1. The acting is terrible I’m sorry but it is. And not only the acting but the script is questionable as well so it may not necessarily be on the actors but rather the writing and awkward dialogue. 2. Loads of unnecessary gore. I guess if that’s your thing, cool, but it’s just constant and adds nothing to the show in my opinion. 3. Ok so apparently all of a sudden he can see these creatures and now there’s a murder in this town every week or something like is no one concerned by that?? And every. Single. Crime. Is committed by a creature. But I get ruling out anything logical since it is fantasy. Also in the beginning, they were doing literally ANYTHING to kill off that Aunt. Like no don’t leave the room when she could be killed any second dummy. And this is not only that one time it continues in episode 6. It’s giving: just kill off a character to make it dramatic.(of course I understand that his Aunt had to die to start the whole thing but yk…)😭 4. Forgetting old plots. So I’ve only seen part of season 1 because it was just too painful to continue but as far as I’m aware Nick just completely dropped the whole idea of proposing to his girlfriend. Like. That never happened and was never even hinted at or brought up again even 7 or 8 episodes later. 5. Lots of flashlights. If you are photosensitive or epileptic this is hell. Flashlights flicker and shine directly in the camera in like every episode and the lights aren’t even out for a reason, they just suddenly make it dark and it’s like JUST TURN ON THE DAMN LIGHTS. 7. The CGI is pretty bad. And yes I am aware it was 2012 so I am going easy with this one, it didn’t bother me all that much. 8. It was only engaging because of the concept. That was literally it. The jokes are dull and not funny. The only character I truly liked was Monroe. 9. Characters are inconsistent and development is thrown out the window. 10. I’m not saying I know any better about writing but I am a pretty artistic person and feel a lot of these things could’ve been done better personally. So overall my biggest issue is the bad acting/writing. It’s very hard to sit through and the unreasonable amount of gore is also bothersome like at least rate it R and not PG-13. But again no malice here I love love love this concept so so much I just wish it was watchable, thanks for reading. <3
