Good acting. Great story. I was 9 when I first saw it and it inspired me to a life of adventure on the sea. I eventually dived off Bermuda, Hawaii, Florida, Mexico, Caribbean and many other destinations. I met the inventor of the "sand gun" used in the movie. I spent most of my life on the coast and on the sea (and sky). The Deep was the first book I read cover to cover. It made a long lasting impact on my life. Thank you to Peter Benchley and the cast for the inspiration. I lived in the North Shore of Oahu for several years and now live on the Gulf of Mexico in Florida.
