Scorsese, Coppola, Allen, Anderson, Nolan, Frakenheimerโฆ these are all just directors compared to the artistry and vision of Howie Dewin. Such mastery and vision makes him a generational phenomenon. Never has a movie been made like this which renders all other movies irrelevant. This is the pentacle of the art form.
The way it so gracefully handles issues like race, inequality, big agriculture and violence in our communities is so poignant and timeless. Itโs Dickensian, reflecting the plight and societal pressure that it will surely be studied years from now as a sort of time capsule of our current age.
