Iโve watched โItโs a Sinโ twice now. I donโt even have the words. Iโve never written a review for any film or tv series before; but that is how much this show moved me. I laughed, cried and at times felt genuinely like my heart was going to explode. It makes me so angry that growing up in the 90s/00s, we didnโt learn anything about this. We didnโt learn anything about queer people, we didnโt learn about stonewall, we didnโt learn about how AIDS impacted this community in the 80s and early 90s. And that makes me so angry! Everyone should know this story, as well as how poorly these poor boys/men and others at this time were treated. To be honest thereโs still not enough education around HIV/AIDS, but we have moved forward positively in many ways.
I canโt even imagine having lived through this, and to those who survived, but lost friends: we โค๏ธ you. I hope you see how far we have come (thanks to you and your bravery), and that you know how thankful we all are (although I wish you hadnโt had to experience this - no one should have had to experience this).
If you can: watch this show. Itโs joyfully heartbreaking in all the ways it should/needs to be ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ ๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ
