One of my favorite Miles albums period. The Wind Cries Mary is referenced so well in a backwards fashion. Tony’s use of space and the quiet nature of the arrangements draws us into the music in a dramatic way. The long forms lend themselves to close listening or background casual ambient dinner jazz. The two lineups compliment each other so well I didn’t know the details for years.
