It's true that Charles Dickens probably wouldn't have appreciated this retelling of Great Expectations but I honestly don't think he would have been happy with a mixed race cast either to be perfectly honest! I have no problem with a twist on an old tale but I do think that the BBC could have come up with a new story and left the classic alone. If you ignore the above and watch it as a stand alone series I still think it's a great story and if not then don't watch it.
