An unfortunate ending to a once amazing franchise. It's main story is a dull experience that was milked out for as long as humanely possible then milked a little longer after that. It's difficulty spikes are as generic as they come. For example an enemy will now deal 3x more damage than usual and has now 6ร more health than normal. There is a gloriously huge roster of characters but unfortunately the strongest of those characters are unnecessarily good for no reason. A character I decided to main was Rosalina, and for no reason some of her best attacks don't even look like attacks yet they can deal so much damage and hit multiple times as well. As if the horrible balance of characters isn't bad enough. When items are at play, the game goes from tolerable to unplayable, especially when playing against the games ai. In which the game will continuously give every conceivable advantage to its AI. Example, right as your about to finish off your opponent with a powerful move, a barrel spawns in front of your attack which could prevent the attack from hitting your opponent, the barrel spawns a pokeball that the enemy grabs in which spawns in a deadly legendary pokemon that kills you. You want to play online? Good luck on that, the game's servers are completely garbage and will cause most of your inputs to be delayed. The game has a terrible UI and takes forever to load through. Most of the maps are seemingly not designed to have a decent match on which fortunately there is a great feature that could change the layout of maps to be in 1 or 2 default patterns. Unfortunately this game decided to go for quantity instead of quality. There will be more new fighters coming out which is nice. Their first set of DLC characters was lack luster, this new set is already looking to be disappointing as well. Although I really hope to be wrong.
I wish my favorite franchise didn't go out like this. It looks like the passion and love that went into this game has unfortunately came to an end
