It is more about the journey that Andrew McCarthy takes where he comes to realize that the term โBrat Packโ was actually a blessing - for their careers. Given that he has been in therapy for years, I gotta question the quality of his therapy. It took this long for him to reconnect and realize this? Is he that far removed from the everyday public that โBrat Packโ has an enduring legacy?
Rob Lowe has the healthiest attitude and schools McCarthy. As does Demi. Emilio seems to be in a good place with it now too. I assume Judd Nelson and Molly Ringwald still have issues since they declined to appear in the film. That is their loss and only perpetuates the applicability of the term โbratsโ to them.
A lot more could have been done. I am their age and I loved all their movies. Surprising to me since I expected more of a deep dive from McCarthy. The film has good moments and the walk down memory lane is nice; however, too much surface and not enough depth.
