The Acolyte show had potential but missed the mark for longtime Star Wars fans, especially those who love the High Republic timeline. The battles were impressive, reminiscent of the original trilogy, but the focus on two insignificant characters and cheesy plots detracted from the rich Jedi lore. Disney needs to make Star Wars darker and more adult-oriented, like the High Republic books, to be taken seriously. Star Wars is a brutal universe, not a kid's show. Obi-Wan did well with this balance, but The Acolyte fell short. Fans of Star Wars deserves a Game of Thrones-level adaptation.
